Organizational Codes of Conduct

Players

Players participating in the KC Riverdawgs program are responsible for adhering to the items covered in their signed player agreement as well as adhering to the items listed below in the Players Code of Conduct.
1. Respect for Others:

  • Treat coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, and spectators with respect, both on and off the field.

  • Avoid disrespectful or discriminating language, gestures, or actions.

  • Accept decisions made by officials and coaches gracefully, without arguing or showing dissent.

2. Sportsmanship:

  • Display good sportsmanship at all times.

  • Shake hands with opponents.

  • Congratulate opponents on good performances.

3. Safety:

  • Follow all safety rules and guidelines provided by coaches and officials.

  • Report any injuries or safety concerns to coaches immediately.

  • Use proper protective equipment as required for the sport.

4. Fair Play:

  • Play by the rules of the game.

  • Avoid cheating, dishonesty, or unsportsmanlike behavior.

  • Respect the integrity and spirit of the game.

5. Teamwork:

  • Work cooperatively with teammates to achieve common goals.

  • Support and encourage teammates, regardless of individual performance.

  • Accept and fulfill assigned roles within the team.

6. Commitment:

  • Attend all practices, games, and team events punctually and consistently.

  • Notify coaches in advance if unable to attend scheduled activities.

  • Give full effort and attention during practices and games.

7. Conflict Resolution:

  • Resolve conflicts with teammates or opponents calmly and respectfully.

  • Seek assistance from coaches or officials if conflicts cannot be resolved independently.

  • Avoid retaliating or escalating conflicts physically or verbally.

8. Personal Conduct:

  • Represent oneself, team, and organization positively in all interactions.

  • Refrain from the using profanity, drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products.

  • Maintain personal hygiene and appearance standards.

9. Social Media and Communication:

  • Use social media responsibly, refraining from posting inappropriate content related to a teammate, the team, opponent or sport.

  • Communicate respectfully and appropriately with coaches, teammates, and others involved in the sport.

This code of conduct should be communicated clearly to all youth athletes, parents/guardians, coaches, and other stakeholders involved in the youth sports program. It's also important to periodically review and reinforce these expectations to ensure adherence and maintain a positive and safe sporting environment for all participants.

Coaches and Parents

Interscholastic and youth sports programs play an important role in promoting the physical, social, and emotional development of children. It is therefore essential for parents, coaches, and officials to encourage youth athletes to embrace the values of good sportsmanship. Moreover, adults involved in youth sports events should be models of good sportsmanship and should lead by example by demonstrating fairness, respect, and self-control. This code of conduct is in supplement to the Parent and coaches contract provided during onboarding.

I therefore pledge to be responsible for my words and actions while attending, coaching, officiating, or participating in a youth sports event. I shall conform my behavior to the following code of conduct:

  1. I will not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any coach, parent, player, participant, official, or any other attendee.

  2. I will not encourage my child, or any other person, to engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any coach, parent, player, participant, official, or any other attendee.

  3. I will not engage in any behavior that would endanger the health, safety, or well-being of any coach, parent, player, participant, official, or any other attendee.

  4. I will not encourage my child, or any other person, to engage in any behavior that would endanger the health, safety, or well-being of any coach, parent, player, participant, official, or any other attendee.

  5. I will not use drugs or alcohol while at a youth sports event and will not attend, coach, officiate, or participate in a youth sports event while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  6. I will not permit my child, or encourage any other person, to use drugs or alcohol at a youth sports event and will not permit my child, or encourage any other person, to attend, coach, officiate, or participate in a youth sports event while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  7. I will not engage in the use of profanity.

  8. I will not encourage my child, or any other person, to engage in the use of profanity.

  9. I will treat any coach, parent, player, participant, official, or any other attendee with respect regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation or ability.

  10. I will encourage my child to treat any coach, parent, player, participant, official, or any other attendee with respect regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, or ability.

  11. will not engage in verbal or physical threats or abuse aimed at any coach, parent, player, participant, official, or any other attendee.

  12. I will not encourage my child, or any other person, to engage in verbal or physical threats or abuse aimed at any coach, parent, player, participant, official, or any other attendee.

  13. I will not initiate a fight or scuffle with any coach, parent, player, participant, official, or any other attendee.

  14. I will not encourage my child, or any other person, to initiate a fight or scuffle with any coach, parent, player, participant, official, or any other attendee.

I hereby agree that if I fail to conform my conduct to the foregoing while attending, coaching, officiating, or participating in a youth sports event I will be subject to disciplinary action, including but not limited to the following in any order or combination:

  1. Verbal warning issued by an officer or coach of the organization.

  2. Written warning issued by an officer or coach of the organization.

  3. Suspension or immediate ejection from a youth sports event issued by a coach, a league, an organization, or an official who is authorized to issue such suspension or ejection.

  4. Suspension from multiple youth sports events issued by an officer or coach of the organization.

  5. Dismissal from the program, issued by the Board of Directors.
